International Call For Papers

The Call For Papers (CFP) is now open: you can submit your talk to the staff of ITPug that will carefully review it. It is possible to apply for the following types of talks (authors can apply for more than one talk, even of the same kind):

  • regular talks (max 30 minutes): research activity, implementation details, optimization, replication, administration and automation of tools tied to PostgreSQL;
  • lightning talks (max 5 minutes): a short talk to present an idea, a new project or share an experience;
  • tutorial (max 60 minutes): a course on a specific subject in order to improve attendees knowledge. All the tutorials must include at least one demo and/or an interactive session.

At the PGDay.IT there will also be an exhibition room; it is possible to book a booth to expose your PostgreSQL products and/or services.
All the above kind of talks and tutorial, as well as booths, have to be carefully evaluated by the PGDay.IT organizing committee. In order to submit your proposal, please send an email at [email protected] before August the 4th (23:59, Rome time) clearly indicating:

  • type of the talk;
  • language of the talk (Italian/English);
  • author(s) name and affiliation;
  • who will present the contribution (is it possible to have multiple speakers);
  • title of the talk/contribution;
  • a description of the talk and what will be presented (no less than 500 words, no more than 2000), including
    the supposed added value of the contribution to the conference;
  • in the case the talk has been presented (or is going to be presented) in other conferences or events, please indicate the name, location and dates of such events;
  • resources required (e.g., Internet access, video/audio, etc.);
  • an estimated number of slides (if any);
  • which material will be available (slides, notes, code snippets, etc.);

Please take into account that all the shown material have to be available to conference attendees for free, and therefore we encourage authors to apply an appropriate license to their material. Moreover, all the material is on your own.

On August the 5th 2013 authors will be notified about the acceptance of their proposals.

The PGDay.IT staff, while evaluating the submitted works, has the right to ask the author(s) more information in order to better evaluate each contribution. All the accepted proposals have to be formatted according to the authors guide line that will be available.
